What you Need to Know

All Families, please:

-        Always bring ID (afternoon teachers may be different or may not be able to connect you to your child, so please be prepared to ALWAYS show ID). Please be respectful to my staff if they do ask for ID, even if you’ve come to pick up a hundred times. Please remember that this is for your child’s safety!

-        Text Hideout Cell (925-282-0903) if you are new to our program with your picture/name/child’s name, and child’s picture (each parent should do this from their individual phone – this makes it easier for us to create your contact in our cell)

- You must sign your child in and out with your FULL SIGNATURE and the TIME, per licensing.

-        Let us know if your child will be absent AND why (text or email) – we are not part of Springhill and will not get the message when you contact them.  After 2 warnings, you will be charged per occurrence you fail to let us know your child will be absent.

-        Email “info@kidshideout.net” for all needs (unless personal and needs to go directly to me).  Staff do not have access to my email, and your email may not be answered in a timely manner if you email me directly.

-        Label Everything

-        Send water bottle daily

-        Walk your child up to building to sign in /out.  Do NOT send kids up on own

-        Follow all parking lot signs and Springhill’s Parking Lot Staff’s instructions.

-        No parking in circle from 8 am to 3 pm

-        Before school – DO NOT park in any numbered or lettered stalls to drop your child off, or in a disabled spot (unless you have a permit).

-        Do NOT send child on a camp day if not signed up. We do not charge for camp days/weeks unless you sign up, so we ARE NOT expecting your child. Space on camp days is limited and not guaranteed - even if it is your regular day – so you MUST SIGN UP FOR CARE on a camp day if you need care and we will let you know if we can accommodate.

Snacks/Meals at Hideout:

-        We provide breakfast for Sunrise kids (7:25 – 7:50) starting Monday 8/25

-        We provide afternoon snack daily at 2:45 for all kids staying for through Afternoon/Sunset Clubs

-        We provide a “fruit only” snack daily at 5:15 for kids staying through Sunset Club

-        Springhill offers free breakfast/snack and free lunch for all kids.  Please visit the Springhill website to learn more about the hot lunch program. (For Kinder & TK, see info below for hot lunch program sign up.)

All Kinder/TK, please:

-        Send snack daily for school.  Put in separate container/bag and label so your child knows what is for school and what is for lunch at Hideout

-        SEND a REGULAR SIZE backpack daily – too much going back and forth between School and Hideout. (Backpack should be able to hold lunch, jacket, library book, and schoolwork – the cute little back packs simply do not work for Hideout, so please send regular size)

-        We have partnered with the school program so that we can participate in the free school lunch. You will be able to order your child’s lunch choices FOR THE MONTH through a District Office email (Michelle Foxworthy will send you an email). We WILL NOT do hot lunch during gentle beginnings so PLEASE send a lunch the first two weeks. Lunches can be ordered starting Monday, August 25th.

o   For TK – kids will eat lunch with us daily and can order lunch daily

o   For Kinder – Wed only (the other days, they will eat lunch with their Springhill class)

o   Forget to sign up? We will go back to get a lunch; however, your child may end up eating up to 20 minutes later than others (as we need to sort out all lunches first), and we have 50+ kids on Wednesdays for lunch. If we need to get an “Oops” lunch, your child will not get their food choice as we will pick up whatever the program still has available.

Please check daily before sending your child to be sure they have a lunch & a Springhill snack.

-        Bridge-only kids – pick up from kinder yard (or classroom in negative weather)

-        After Gentle Beginnings, Late Slip k/tk – drop off at the curb in front of the school.

o   If you arrive before 8:15, DO NOT LEAVE kids.  You must circle around until our Hideout teacher is standing there with a clipboard. Late Slip drop of begins at 8:15!

o   PULL all the way forward and let parking lot staff know your child is part of Hideout. Springhill staff will guide your kids over to us. (Do not stop in front of us if there is still space to move up.)

o   If your child takes the bus, please let us know

TK schedule:

-        Does not change (no gentle beginnings)

-        Will eat lunch with us daily (can order hot lunch starting 8/25)

-        The TK’s Schedule:

o   Late Slip TKs (starting Springhill at 9:15) will be with us in Hideout building and we will walk to class (and pick up from class)

o   After class (at 12:45), TK’s will stay down in the TK yard with my staff and will each lunch there.  We will also use the TK classroom/yard to play until 2 pm.

o   Early Slip TKs (starting Springhill at 8:15) will come up to Hideout with my staff at 11:45 to play.  At 12:45, we will go to the TK yard with my staff and will each lunch there.  We will also use the TK class to play until 2 pm.

o   At 2 pm, all TK’s enrolled in Afternoon or Sunset Club will go up to Hideout for the remainder of the day.

o   At 2 pm, all TK’s enrolled in “Bridge Care Only” will merge into the kindergarten yard and will be picked up from that yard by 2:45 MTThF, 1:45 W

Kinder schedule:

-        Gentle Beginnings -  1st two weeks (extra hour on MTThF, charged at special rate of $7.50 per hour)

-        Wacky Wednesdays – all kinders attend from 8:15 – 11:45 – EVERY week

-        Will eat lunch with us on Wed only (can order hot lunch starting 8/25)

-        The K Schedule:

o   Late Slip Ks (starting Springhill at 9:30) will be with us in Hideout building and we will walk to class (and pick up from class)

o   Early Slip Ks (starting Springhill at 8:15) will come up to Hideout with my staff at 12:45 to play.

o   After last slip class (Hideout will pick up at 2 pm), all K’s enrolled in Afternoon or Sunset Club will go up to Hideout for the remainder of the day.

o   At 2 pm, all K’s enrolled in “Bridge Care Only” will merge into the kindergarten yard and will be picked up from that yard by 2:45 MTThF, 1:45 W

1st – 5th schedule:

-        All 1st – 5th attend Springhill 8:30 – 2:42 MTThF, 8:30 – 1:42 W

-        All 1st – 5th come up to Hideout on their own, go through the back door to sign in, and then head out for snack.  Please talk to your kids about this (especially new 1st graders who may be used to being picked up)

-        Within 10 – 15 minutes of school letting out, if your child does not make it up to Hideout, we will send staff out to look for them AND will call you. IF WE CANNOT LOCATE YOUR CHILD OR REACH YOU, we will call police, so it is IMPERATIVE that you notify us ahead of time if your child will be absent. 

Absences:

You MUST call us to notify.  We are not associated with the school so we will not get the message when you notify them of your child’s absence. We simply lease space on their campus, but we are a privately run program. Please help our program run smoothly by notifying us VIA text (925-282-0903) if your child will be absent, and please let us know the reason why.  Emails will only be checked early in the morning, and again around 11:30.  The staff are with the children and will not be checking emails throughout the day, so texting is BEST as we will get that message instantly!
